Dr. Alfonso graduated from Iona College in 1979 with a Bachelors degree in Biology. He went on to receive his doctorate from the SUNY College of Optometry in 1987. With just over 23 years of experience Dr. Alfonso is adept at treating adults, pediatric, geriatric and multicultural populations. He is skilled at working with patients in clinical, optical and ophthalmologic settings. Dr. Alfonso has been a member of VOSH for 23 years. VOSH is “Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity” and is best described as a charity organization in which optometrists volunteer their time and services in developing countries to provide vision care to those who can neither afford nor obtain such care. Dr. Alfonso has participated in 12 international missions, so far, in which he has traveled to other countries and volunteered his time.
